Well i hope everyone is doing well . My husband and i are doing ok except for our usual little aches and ills .We have stayed inside alot, to stay cool , because the weather has been so hot .
we havnt had alot of company lately, except our son Larry, and his wife Donna, They try to come down on the weekend to see about us and visit awhile . we enjoy that . they brought us a little dog , a dachshund, he is so cute and sure keeps my hubby busy keeping after him .but he is company for us both . (his name is Bear )named after , another sweet little dog, that we once had .Well dear friends, stay cool ,and take care until next time .Love , and Blessings to all.

Hello dear friends,hope everyone is well, and warm
GOD is so good, we have a warm house, plenty to eat,
God loves us. we have so much to be thankful for .
the weather has been cold , so we have mostly stayed inside.
I will be looking forward tho , to spring , when the earth is warm
and everything starts to bloom out .I love that .
But i am thankful for everyday, and count our many blessings.
Our son , and his wife , came yesterday and had dinner with us .

HELLO DEAR FRIENDS, Yes im looking forward to getting to gather with family ,
our children, and grandchilden, and friends , spending time and fellowship to gather.
having good food . we use to get to gather on christmas eve ,all pile in dads van and ride thru town stopping and singing christmas carols. Id sure like to do that again . well mabey we can , course we dont have a van anymore .IT was even more fun way back when we could go on hayrides , and sing carols.oh well our dear daughter SHELLEY, is suppose to come stay all day with us or mabey spend the night , before christmas . IM sure that she and I may sit out on the porch , me in my rocking chair , and sing christmas carols, if it is not to cold out, if so we will sing in the house .We will just remember the reason, for the season, the birth of our dear Saviour, Christ our Lord. Hello dear friends, hope everyone is well and having a great day .
we have had a nice quite day. We went to church this morning
then went to Lake Striker Restaurant, to have lunch.
then came home to just relax this evening.
Another hot day, but the nights are some cooler.
Yesterday we had another good get togather,
another B-D party, for two of our grandchildren, at the pool.
we enjoyed that, grandad and I even joined them, in the swimming
pool, and it felt so cool, just great fun too.( easyway to exercise, too
I might add.) the kids had a nice birthday too, nice gifts, and lots of fun for them.
Well this month is almost gone, where did the time go?Sept. will be coming in soon.

Hello dear friends, not much going on here just staying
in where it is cool, and thanking our dear LORD for our
many blessings, so thankful for having an AC and staying
cool in our little home. We have been doing ok.
Our Shelley had a birthday on aug.16th, Ithink she
spent the day resting up from her trip to Eagle Pass,
but she really enjoyed that tho , seeing the grandkids
and all the others.We have her B-D card and her gift,
and we plan on getting to gather , sometime this week ,

HELLO DEAR FRIENDS,
I PRAY EVERYONE IS HAVING A WONDERFUL DAY.
The Lord is so good, and we give Him, the praise for
it all.We are both feeling very well to day.
We are having some beautiful weather, lots of sunshine,
would be nice to get out , and just take a walk, or for me ,
since my walking is limited, just to sit under my shade tree,
and look at the birds ect. Always nice to have a talk with the LORD,
out where it is quite , and peaceful. Some things in our garden is about
beared out, but we do still have okra, and tomatoes. Looking forward,

This picture below is of my hubby and I back in February wearing our red crowns. We were voted in as Valentine King and Queen of our church....we hold the title until next Valentines day.

And this next picture is of my friendly frog wearing his red vest. Don't you think he's cute? Do you think he may turn into a prince if I were to kiss him...don't think I will try. I claimed my Prince Charming over 60 years ago(smile).

Hello my dear friends, hope everyone is doing well.
Gosh i dont know why im so lazy about posting.
But i do think about it, just dont seem to get around to
doing it . I had to go to the hearing aid place to day to get my
ear mold, for my hearing aid repaired. I thought i would have
to get a new one made , but they were able to get this one fixed,
so that saved some money this time. The weather here is some cooler,
We had some rain, and it cooled things off some . much more comfortable.
Our dear daughter Shelley, and grandson JW.came over to visit yesterday
We sure enjoyed that , she and I remimisced, while looking through old photo albumns.
JW and grandad had a nice visit. Hope uall had a nice fourth of July weekend.
We stayed at home, we had fried chicken, and from the garden, green beans,
okra, and squash, and tomatoes. but our tomatoes, are slow coming on.

Hello dear friends, I pray all is well . We are doing ok .
last Sunday we made a trip to Dallas, to a family reunion
We sure enjoyed that , seen alot of kin that we hadnt seen in awhile.
It was my hubbys side of the family , we saw lots of cousins, nieces, nephews ect.
always glad to get back home tho. Last sat. our dear daughter Shelley and her son JW
came over and spent the day with us , we sure enjoyed the time with them .
We had some rain to day, i know that will be good for the garden. we have been enjoying some squash from the garden, radishes ect. will be having purple hull peas soon , and okra.
the tomatoes are growing , but not ready yet. I did have some fried green tomatoes, they were good. Our son gave us some green tomatoes out of their garden .well guess ill go and get ready for bed soon. Blessings and love to all. katie

YEP,its been awhile, but here I am again.
We are doing OK. Last Sunday we had a 100.yr
celebration at our church.

The church was full,we all had a wonderful time of fellowship with all.
It started at 9:45am and lasted until about 4:30 pm.
We are having some beautiful weather,lots of sunshine.
Need some rain though. Our garden is growing good.
Will soon have squash to eat. I took my hubby for test yesterday,
praying it all turns out a-ok. I feel like it will.

WELL, HI TO MY DEAR FRIENDS,
Another weekend is here, and we have just stayed at home today,
no company or anyone just hubby and me . we stayed outside ,
some and enjoyed the sunshine , and fresh air. My flowers are all blooming,
my roses, iris, and amarillas, are looking so pretty.The weather forecast
thunderstorms, and a tornado watch until 10.00 pm in our area to night.
Im praying that it passes us by for sure. Im scared of storms, wish we had a storm cellar.
When i was a little girl, my mom was ready to take us to the cellar as soon as it started to thunder and lightening, and dad would stand outside , and watch unless it got real bad then he would come on in with us and close the door.We live in a mobil home. Hello dear friends, I haven't made a new post in awhile but finally got back to it .

Hope everyone is well and having some nice weather like we are here in our
East Texas area. We got our garden tilled and have planted some things already.
We really are not as able to do as much as we use to be able to do but,I wanted
a garden so much. We decided to try to do what we can do anyway.
Our son Larry came down and tilled it and helped us some .

I especially Like to have tomatoes,peppers, okra, and yellow squash.

But of course when we got started , there was corn, purple hulled peas, green beans, beets, onions, etc. Anyway I'm hoping now that the vegetables will outgrow the weeds. SMILE

DEAR FRIENDS, We had a wonderful day , at the park, a birthday celebration
my hubbys 80th, with all of our children , except our son Paul, and grandson Erwin were unable to come.we had lots of our grandchildren there , and even one sweet little great grandbaby .

We are well , and doing ok , but have had a very sad week. We lost our very dear neighbor
in death , and his funeral is this coming Tuesday. He will be missed so very much.
our DD Shelley came over and spent the day with us yesterday and spent the night too.
We enjoyed her company very much ,her presence made us feel so much better.
Our grandaughters Judy, and Kellie Dawn and her 3 children our great great granchildren,
came in from Ala.to go to the funeral.We were so glad to see them.

VALENTINE ACTIVITY NIGHT AT CHURCH

Hello friends, yes we had our activity night at church to night , and the theme was red
for valentine , we had lots of fun , and plenty good food . THE married couple that had been married the longest. and the shortest years , got prizes,and then everyone cast votes for the King and Queen this year. and guess who won , my husband and I. There was pictures taken.
of us with our pastor when they crowned us. smile. We will try to get them on another post at a later date. Well the weather is still cold, but we had some beautiful sunshine to day.
This morning we went to the hospital, for my husband to have his stress test, and his dr. said it was all ok . We are thanking our dear Lord for that. Well Ill say goodbye for now.

Yep,this picture below in the previous post is of my dear hubby and I the year we got married.
1948 will be 62 years this coming October.

He is a Sweetie,I don't know what I would do without him and really don't know what do with him sometime ( smile, just kidding).
Bless his heart , he hates to go to the doctor but,sometime I talk him into going.
It is time for his stress test and a colonoscopy which he isn't happy about but that is so very important. He just can't pass that by. So,we have appointments for those things.
Guess,it will be my turn next time but,if need be I'll be ready for sure .
Anyway,my dear Hubby is my Valentine Sweetheart!

Hello dear friends, hope this finds everyone doing very well.
We are doing ok . had a nice day, with lots of sunshine , so i suppose the ground hog probley saw his shadow, so we can look forward for several more weeks of cold weather. smile.
Oh well kinda figured on that for Feb. anyway. We went to Henderson, for my husband to have
his hearing aids checked. They worked on one of them, and it is working much better.
Hearing aids are so expensive now we have to get all the use we can from the old ones.
One thing about the over the ear kind , we can just have a new ear mold made for him, and he can use one of my hearing aids. After the visit there we went to the golden corral and had lunch .
We enjoyed that , dont do that very often. Then of course I suggested we go to the goodwill store , and shop around . that was fun to, I found a few little valentine pretties, and some very nice ruby red vases. I tried to call our DD Shelley, so she could go with us, but she wasnt home , she had some work to do at church, so mabey next time. We always enjoy her going with us.

Hello dear friends, we have had a blessed day, went to church this morning , enjoyed the service very much. Last night we went to activity night at church, the men had a chili cook off and my husband came in third place with his pot of chili, it was really good.

We had lots of chili and the fixings and lots of good desserts too. Everyone seem to have a great time ,I know we did.
Today after church we printed out some of the pictures taken last night they were all real good . Maybe,I can show some of them later.

Hello dear friends, sorry I have been slow about posting
but here I am ,finally. We are doing ok , and I pray this finds you all well .
We have had company from Hot springs,Ark. Our grandaughter Tammie,
and our great grandson, Zane. They came and stayed Saturday , until Monday morning.
We sure enjoyed the visit. We are having some much warmer weather, after having the very cold weather. Have been able to get outside , sit and enjoy the sunshine awhile. But im sure the cold weather will be back soon. We did some housecleaning and the laundry to day. Then I did some more crochet, I started a new throw. I gave the one I had just finished to our grandaughter. She loved it. She was going to carry it in her car I think for this cold weather.

My daughters,granddaughters and I.......

Yes,Christmas has come and gone and the new year will soon arrive.
I pray you all had a wonderful Christmas with friends and loved ones.
We sure did ! I fixed a dinner here on Christmas Eve. Some of our children and grandchildren came. Our daughter Debra and grandaughter Rana are still here visiting from Penn.
We have sure enjoyed their company but,they are leaving Monday morning to go home .

A COLD WINTER DAY

Yes it is cold outside today , but so thankful it is nice and warm inside.
My dd Debra, and grandaughter Rana are here to visit with us until
after christmas. they live in Pittsburg Pa. So they are thinking this weather is mild ,
since they are use to lots of snow and ice up their way. Im so happy to have them here.
I got my christmas tree up, it looks real pretty. I put the small one up this year.
our dd Shelley came over the other day to visit , and we had a nice visit.
We went thru some more christmas decoration, and just enjoyed spending time to gather.

20 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS

Hello dear friends, I pray everyone is well, and getting ready for Christmas.

We are doing OK , I have a head cold , but other than that , just our usual aches and ills ,smile.

I have done some of my Christmas decorating, but haven't put my tree up yet.
Our DD Shelley said she will come over Sunday, after church, and help me do that.
She is so good at decorating, I have visited her blog, and she has so many pretty
things, she helps us a lot. Bless her heart.

We had some bad news last night our son in law Billy , that lives in Pennsylvania, had taken an overdose of prescription drugs and is in the hospital recovering from that. Please,remember him, our daughter Debra,( his wife,) and his daughter Rana in your prayers. For his recovery and their comfort.

FRIDAY AGAIN

Hello dear friends, hope this finds everyone having a great weekend.
I am feeling much better to day.My hubby and I went for a ride to day.
First we went by the cemetary, to visit the graves of our , daughter -in law
and our grandson. we stayed awhile and rearranged the flowers .
Then we went on to Arp Tex. I wanted to go to the little thrift store there ,
But they were closed.Our great grandsons, AAron and Austin were on their way ,
home from school, so we picked them up and took them home .
We stayed and visited with their mom awhile. Our daughter Shelley lives close by ,
but she was not at home . So we headed back home , we stopped at the gro. store so i could shop for a few more things , that I needed when I start cooking for our thanksgiving dinner.

BACK HOME AGAIN

Hello dear friends,yes we went out of town , to my brothers funeral,
always so sad and so hard to say goodbye, but so wonderful to look forward, to seeing each other in heaven, some day.we were so tired , and glad to be back home again.
We saw a lot of relatives, that we had nt seen in a long while. our DD Shelley went with us.
so glad to have her company, made the trip easier for her dad and I.
My brother had a nice funeral, it was so sad, but they had a video, with lots of pictures,
of him with family , and friends during his ministery, even one of him performing water baptising
of church people. made me feel so good , and sad at the same time to watch it .
BUT I know he is at peace with God, now and has no pain. Thanks to all for your loving thoughts, and prayers. LOVE KATIE

My dear brother Howard passed away this morning.
God rest his soul. It hurts so much to loose a loved one ,
but knowing that he is with GOD and not in pain now,
helps to comfort us .Thanks to you all, for your comments and your prayers,
they were much appreciated, and gave us much love and comfort in our time of loss.

We are asking prayer that God will give peace and comfort to my dear brother and all his loved ones. He is at home under the care of Hospice. Please,if you have the time would you say a prayer for him.

is having a BD Monday, so they came down to visit, it is such a beautiful day,
We had a cookout, and sit outside and enjoyed the weather.
The week has been good,Thursday our DD Shelley, and grandaughter Kathy,
and dear little Jaxon, our precious great grandson, they came down to visit us.
He is so sweet . We sure enjoyed spending time with them.

I pray that everyone has had a wonderful day.
We went to church this morning , then came home and had dinner.
My husband and I watched tv awhile. as usual we both feel asleep, in our recliners.
took a nap. then i called our dd Shelley, got her up from her nap ,we had a long phone visit.
We then went to town to visit our son and his family. had a very good visit with them.
We have both been doing very well , except for our usual aches and ills.
We enjoy the cooler weather, but this morning we had to light the heater, it was in the 40s,
that felt good. Tomorrow is our anniversary. number 61. Praise the Lord.

Good morning to all, It is a beautiful day! Yes,we had a good visit with our little great GS.
Brandon. He is the son of Bruce, our grandson we lost in a car accident in April.
We enjoyed our time with him very much. He is growing, and walking now . He has curly red hair. So sweet. He is our son Larry's grandson. He is very proud of him . That red hair so Irish
(SMILE). Brandon's mom Jill, wasn't very sociable with us this visit. Just got her things to gather and her dog and loaded up and left. I don't understand because she and I were always close and enjoyed each others company.My legs were hurting yesterday so I went outside and sit at the picnic table while they were there, our son Larry and his wife brought the baby over for us to spend time with but Jill just didn't say much or come over . I started to get upset about it but I stopped myself and I am just so thankful to spend the time with Brandon. I thank God for that
I pray that what ever is bothering Jill, that she will find peace with it . Could be the grief and that is her way of coping with it. We do love them very much, and I pray that she will keep in touch with us and let us know how our grandson is doing.

Hello dear friends, yes we had a sad day for our family, on Sunday,April 26th about 1:00 am in the early morning hours, our dear grandson Bruce Turner age 36, died in a automobile accident
not far from our home. He leaves behind 5 children. He was a very caring, loving sweet person.

Yes we are having alot of rain to day, but im sure we needed it, or the good Lord wouldnt have sent it for us. Our oldest son James went to Jacksonville Tx . last monday for a heart cath.

I pray everyone is well, and having a wonderful day. Yes,it is spring time again. I love it, everything is blooming out, dogwoods, redbud trees ,daffodils, ect.
We are both doing ok, we went to church yesterday, came home fixed lunch. Our son Larry and his new bride Donna came to visit, and had lunch with us. They were married on the 19th of March, she is a very sweet lady. We are so happy for them and wish them much love and happiness. Then our DD Shelley and her hubby Loyd , with their son JW, and his girlfriend, came to visit. Shelley had their sweet little grandbaby, little Vivian with them (our great grand baby) she is precious! Also another dear grandaughter Regina, her hubby John, and their boys Arron, and Austin. Hello dear friends, Sorry I haven't made a post in awhile , but the Dr. put me back on my blood pressure meds,and I have been having some trouble adjusting to them, like being dizzy, and short of breath. So,I went to the ER today ,and they decided to take me off the coreg, and try another one not so strong. I am hoping that will do much better. I pray everyone is doing well at your homes. Hello my dear friends,
Well,it is cold again tonight. Hope this finds everyone staying warm and well!
We are doing ok , We had some of our family come for a visit with us today after church.
Our daughter Shelley and her husband Loyd , their son J.W., and their son Thomas, his wife Larissa, their daughterYanis, and little son Colton. Also,our youngest son David, his wife Minnie, and their oldest daughter Cheyenne. Their other daughter, and son were at home. Our son Larry and his friend were here too . And our daughter Debra, and her daughter , Rana
(our grandaughter) came up from Dallas. We all exchanged gifts, and just had a very good time !
Today was my Mom's birthday,but she has been gone to live with Jesus, for a very long time. I think of her often, and have such wonderful memories, of her and my Dad too.

Good morning dear friends, hope everyone is well. We are all o.k at our house!
Thank the Lord for our many blessings.

Not much news to tell here ,but it is cold today,guess we will stay inside a lot! Since we are giving photos for Christmas gifts to our children, and grandchildren this year there's not much wrapping of gifts to do. I have just been trying to put them in frames for everyone. I used to fix bags of fruit ,nuts, and candy, for all the kids, I still may do that! I know when I was a child I always looked forward to my Christmas stocking,filled with all those goodies. We always did that ,for our little ones too. Of course then ,we all figured Santa came and filled them (smile). Guess, today I'll start thinking about what to cook for Christmas dinner,for when the kids all stop by. Some of them fix dinner at their house for all their kids , but I'm sure they will come by later to eat some of Mom's cooking. Also,all the grandchildren, know that Granny and Grandad will be waiting for all those hugs. Tis the Season, so everyone, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It's 20 days until Christmas! I have done some decorations,

Well,Thanksgiving has come and gone. We had a great day, big turkey dinner, and lots of goodies. Hope you all had a wonderful day, with friends, and loved ones. We all have so much to be thankful for. Now Christmas is on its way. I think I will start getting our Christmas decorations out to display. I love to do that, but don't think I'll over do it this year, because my knees have been hurting alot. I get shots in my knees about every three months,and my appointment isn't until Dec. 29th. I may go in before then., but I like to wait as long as I can.
I love comments from all you dear friends,sure makes me wish I could meet you in person sometime. I know I'm not to good on getting back to everyone with comments, on their blogs.

Hello my friends, Pray you all are having a wonderful day!
All is well at our house. Our daughter Debra, came down to visit with us untilafter Thanksgiving. We plan on going to visit at our other daughter Shelley's church tomorrow. The weather is cold today, so we are just staying in,either watching TV or on the PC. We are also thinking about looking around in the storage for our Christmas decorations. Lori went home from the hospital to day, they took the staples from her incision,
and no fever. she was so happy to be going home to her children, and grandchildren.
her husband, and sister were up there to bring her home.

Hello dear friends, I pray all is well at your house . We went to church this morning, and came back home. Our daughter, Shelley and her family came to visit. We had a good lunch. I had cooked some turnip greens, and purple hull peas also made corn bread. The kids enjoyed Chili Dogs!
We made a trip to Alabama last weekend, our granddaughter,Lori had to have surgery on Nov. the 10th. We thought she was doing OK so we came on home,but the next day she started running a fever. They decided she had a infection,and started treating her with antibiotics,which helped some,but the fever was still there so they wanted to go back for another surgery to find the problem. Our other granddaughter that is with her there , decided to transfer her to Mobile Ala., for a second opinion.
That is where she is now, and they are still treating her with strong antibiotics. We are all praying,and the church is also sending up prayers too, that she will get well soon so she can get back home with her children and grandchildren. PLEASE PRAY WITH US DEAR FRIENDS
that she will get well soon. That her infection will be gone, and she will get to go home soon.

It is almost here , and we have so much to be thankful for always.
We went on a trip to Alabama. our grandaughter Lori had surgery, she is doing ok, ,just be sore for awhile. We had a good trip. Another of our grandaughter and family , cooked us a big dinner , a early thanksgiving, very good , lots of good southern cooking. We enjoyed the trip, but Iwas glad to get back home . Hello dear friends.Well,today is our son Paul's birthday,he is our 3rd born. Hope he had a great day. Pray everything is going well with you all. We are having nice weather. We had to go pay bills today. I'm always glad to get that done, and behind us for another month.. I thank the Lord, just to be able to do that. Well,tomorrow it is time to go vote. Guess,we will try to get out to the polls, hoping not to have to stand in line to long. To tell you the truth, I'm really undecided about my vote this time,but if I'm able to get up there ,I'm sure I'll decide , It's really our patriotic duty, to do so! Well I went to the dr. to day , and all my tests, were A ok, good report on all.
Thank you dear Lord. Hope everyone is enjoying the nice cool weather.
It is just sweater weather here, so comfortable, but according to the weather forecast,
I think we will be getting some colder weather very soon.We are having a revival at our church,

Hello to everyone, Hope this finds everyone well. As for me,I'm feeling much better.
Praise the Lord! We are having some nice cool fall weather, and it feels so good.
Our grandson took my husband and I fishing today. We had a lot of good bites , lost a lot of bait and hooks too from brush ect, in the water. I guess when the hurricane came thru
a while back, a lot of limbs fell in the water . My grandson caught one cat fish,it was to small so we thru him back,but we all enjoyed the outing anyway. Really made me feel better , just getting out .

I went to Tyler yesterday for stress test,and my cardiologist gave me a good report. I'm so thankful! My DD Shelley went with my husband, and I.

Well,we went to church this morning and three of our grandchildren came . We were so happy to see them there! We stopped byour sons house after church. He cooked hamburgers, and fries out on the grill. We stayed and enjoyed lunch with them. We have been having some nice weather, very good after, having hurricane Ike, blow thru here last week. We had a lot of damage with blown down trees, up rooted ect. in our front yard, and no electricity for about five days. But,even with all that,I feel very thankful that our house was OK and no one was hurt.I pray for those people on the coast line and all around there. They lost so much, but their lives were spared. I'm sure they must be very thankful, just to be alive. It was a powerful storm.

Hello friends, I hope everyone is having a good week. I haven't been feeling well this week.
I guess because of the funeral , I've been so stressed. But, I'll move on and feel better soon I'm sure.

Our family, friends, and our church helped us thru this time alot, and we give so many thanks to everyone. Sherry had been thru alot of pain, and in and out of the hospital. I know she is at rest, and peace now . Her husband Paul, and all of us will miss her much, I'm sure.

A SAD REUNION

We have had a sad day, our daughter -in-law Sherry, was buried to day .God rest her soul.
Our son Pauls wife. She has been sick for awhile.We loved her, and will miss her.

Hello dear friends, hope all is well,with you. We are all ok at our house.
The weather is some cooler, had a nice rain, and the grass is nice and green again.
Our grandson , his wife and baby moved in close by to us. Our other grandaughter Lori that has her house on our property, was vacant , so they moved in there .Lori and her family, have moved to Alabama. I miss them all, but especially the little great, great grandchildren.
Now God has blessed me with another of our sweet grandbabies, living close by to spend time with. His name is Brandon and he is 6 months old. Well take care , and God bless you all.
